This is a one-session class on categories (necessary and sufficient conditions) and knowledge of category membership. What makes something a pig? Does it have to be pink, have a curly tail, have four legs, and make snorting noises? Are these four things enough for something to be a pig? How do we know if something is a pig, rather than a pug that was dyed pink? Could a horse just be a funny-looking pig?
